The magnetic formulation used in both the 4mm and 8mm Data Cartridges is a specially adapted version of TDK's proprietary high-output metal particle. The TDK-developed TDC (Three Dimensional Compound) binder system assures that the metal particles are densely packed and uniformly dispersed on the tape surface. It is this combination of advanced particle chemistry and exacting coating technology that gives TDK Data Cartridges stable high-output characteristics along with long-term resilience and strength.
TDK's complete line of 4mm and 8mm Data Cartridges include the DC4-120 (4.0 GB); DC4- 90 (2.0 GB); DC4-60 (1.3 GB) and the DC8-112 (2.5/5.0 GB). Both TDK 4mm and 8mm Data Cartridges are in conformance with ANSI TCX3B5 specifications. TDK has also recently announced the development of a 12 GB DC4 cartridge, which is scheduled for delivery later this year.
